Overview
Refunds depend on the airline's rules for your fare class, the reason for cancellation, and how close to departure you cancel. We process every refund request manually and email you the exact figure within 24 hours before charging anything.
Fare class & refundability
- Promo: usually non-refundable. Sometimes a partial taxes refund is possible.
- Promo+: 50–70 % refundable, less change fee.
- Flexi: 80–100 % refundable, free change up to 24 hours before departure.
- Premium / Business: Generally fully refundable, free changes.
How to cancel
- Go to My trips → pick the booking → Manage.
- Click Cancel and refund.
- Choose your reason and preferred refund method.
- Submit. We email the exact refund within 24 hours.
Refund timeline
- Original payment method: 5–10 business days after we process (varies by card issuer / bank).
- Sonic Star voucher: issued within 1 business day, valid 12 months.
Fees
Airlines charge their own change/cancel fees. Sonic Star charges a flat service fee of 5,000 MMK (domestic) or USD 10 (international) per cancellation. The total is disclosed before processing — you can withdraw your request at no cost if you change your mind.
Exceptions
Some fares (especially deeply discounted promos) are sold as non-refundable under any circumstance. We'll tell you upfront.
Involuntary cancellations
If the airline cancels your flight, downgrades you, or significantly delays departure, you are entitled to a full refund or a free rebook. We handle this on your behalf at no service fee.
Vouchers
We'll often offer a Sonic Star travel voucher instead of cash refund — typically valued at the full ticket cost, valid 12 months, no change fees on future bookings. Helpful when your fare isn't refundable but you want to travel later.
Disputes
If you disagree with our refund decision, reply to our email or contact refunds@sonicstartravel.com. We escalate within 5 business days.
